On June 15th we were making our way back to Reykjavik from Akureyri [more on both towns to come];  at the halfway point we came across these great rock people. We knew we were halfway because the signs told us so…

I’d asked Ragga about the rock people, and she said they were at the side of the road to make people aware of the small town of Hvammstangi, which was 6km down the road. We didn’t make it down to the town, (which is most densely populated area in the Húnaþing County, with population of about 580 people), so I guess the town will have to be on my list of things to see the next time I get to Iceland.

Anyways, a huge part of our excellent road trip was the boys; there wasn’t one time during the entire road trip that I wasn’t thankful that they were with us. They were funny, they were fun, and they were full of endless energy. Yup, you could say I miss them.

And while we, as adults, would look at the rock people, perhaps smile and say ‘how cute’ … the boys knew exactly what to do….

Yesterday we set out to capture lovely Peyton in the great outdoors. What a little trooper she is; are we seeing the future Canada’s Top Model?? Regardless of the surroundings, Ms. Peyton delivers the best images.

Today I had the pleasure of photographing little 7-month old Peyton in a very special dress. Both Peytons Mom and Grandma had worn the dress before her.

Though our plans of shooting Peyton in the great outdoors was derailed due to weather, I do believe we managed to make the best of it with our studio shoot.

I don’t often do a lot of post-production work in terms of actions or textures, but it only seemed right to bring the photographs back in time a bit…..

A little later, we did a really, really, fun photoshoot with Peyton and her older brother Landon … will be uploading a few of those images in the next day or two…

I had the privilege to photograph L’Arche Greater Vancouver’s 1st Annual The Art of Being Together fundraiser.

The L’Arche community strives to support and value each person’s spiritual journey. People with developmental disabilities and those who assist them live in a family-like surrounding where meaningful friendships, mutual respect and helping each other discover our gifts and abilities.

The day included the showing of juried works of art from the community at-large as well as artwork from the L’Arche community, a community art area where everyone was encouraged to participate in creating a painting, a silent auction; first-class entertainment, and incredible snacks. The day was most successful!

Adriana Durian Photography had the pleasure of shooting Mike and Kayla’s engagement photos. We went to the breakwater and beach, thinking that we’d be able to make it out to Goldstream Park before sunset. Who knew the walk to the lighthouse at the breakwater was so far!! We decided to do a second shoot the next day, and went to the old train & buildings in Esquimalt, a park, and then headed out to Goldstream Park.

Mike and Kayla were great to photograph, lots of fun and lots of input. Their wedding will be in 2011, so maybe before the big day we’ll meet again for another shoot.

Enjoy…..
