Victoria BC’s only gallery dedicated to the Photographic Arts, Luz Gallery,  is currently exhibiting  Allan Mandells’ collection of images ‘Sensing Spirit’…[http://www.luzgallery.com/current-exhibition]

Though not able to make the opening reception, I was able to stop in earlier this week and was spellbound with the beauty of the images — which inspired me to venture out to Beacon Hill Park today to explore the world of macro-slash-nature photography.

I’d never gone out specifically to shoot flowers/foliage [to be honest, I’ve never given flower/foliage photography any thought], and macro photography isn’t something I’d done before. I learned a powerful lesson in the world of macro … wind is not your friend.

Here’s a few of the shots that I thought were sorta’ kinda’ cool abstractie — I’ll definitely be shooting more macro in the future [in the studio, far away from any breezes].

BTW, you can click on any of these images to see them in a larger format…. cheers!!! … adriana
